The now firmly established and popular Countryside Ring gives you the chance to get up close and personal with a variety of popular country pursuits. It is a smaller, more intimate ring, where you can sit down and enjoy the expertise in our wonderful displays.

Pass It On Young Sports are passionate about involving people of all ages, but especially young people into the countryside, field sports and conservation arena. The enthusiasm shown by Rob Collins today in the Countryside Ring is infectious! Don’t miss it!

The Ferretworld Roadshow will give you a feast of ferrets! Involving children taking part in the action in the Countryside Ring, you won’t be disappointed by this display. They also have a stand in the Living Working Countryside so make a point of visiting them to see the ferrets up close.

Wye Valley Axemen
Come and watch the speed, skill and accuracy of this demonstration, using razor sharp axes and saws as they bring to life the lumber jack techniques of years gone by. You’ll be able to hear the axe whistling through the air!

The Falconry School
Falconry flying displays, with a lively and informative commentary and audience participation. You will also find Ben Long with his birds in the Living Working Countryside area during the day.

Strigidae Gundogs (Sam Thatcher)
We are very excited to welcome award winning top female gundog trainer of the year 2024 Sam Thatcher to our Countryside Ring where she will be demonstrating her experience with handling and training gundogs.
Sam is also demonstrating her Wildfowling Display by the lake at 10.30 am and 3.15 pm
At other times, you can find her on the Skinners Stand as she is a Skinners Ambassador.

Berkeley Hunt Pony Club Fancy Dress
The Berkeley Hunt Pony Club members will be parading in fabulous Fancy Dress in the Countryside Ring. This is their third appearance and we hope to see them for many years to come. The Club teaches their young members everything they need to know about riding and equine management.

Harness Goats
The Harness Goat Society seeks to promote the usefulness, gentleness and intelligence of modern goat. Formed in 1986, the aims of the society are to maintain and improve the care and wellbeing of the harness goat, and to act as a source of advice on all matters pertaining to the health and training of the Harness Goat.

El-ver Eating Competition
A fiercely contested competition was held annually on The Green here in Frampton on Severn for many years, but the scarcity of elvers meant it had to cease. However, in 2015 it was reinstated using an elver substitute. We continue the competition here at Frampton Country Fair and we are using the eco friendly alternative Surimi.
If you would like to be a competitor in this event, please register at the Countryside Ring 10 minutes before the start.

Working Dog Parade
This is a great opportunity to see a large range of working dogs. From Hounds and Retrievers to Spaniels. There will be a large range of breeds to look at so come and learn more about them. If you’ve got a working dog, come along and join the parade!
