The Countryside Ring brings together a wonderful variety of traditional rural skills, both informative and entertaining in a relaxed, informal setting. With knowledgeable experts on hand throughout the day, you’ll discover the craftsmanship, heritage and practical skills that have shaped our countryside for generations. Whether you’re keen to learn something new, watch talented handlers in action or simply soak up the atmosphere, there’s always something happening in the Countryside Ring.

Working Clumber Spaniels

Discover one of Britain’s rarest working gundog breeds in action. The Working Clumber Spaniel Society, founded in 1984 and proudly led by its President, HRH The Princess Royal, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the Clumber Spaniel as a capable and versatile working dog.

Joseph’s Amazing Camels

We’re thrilled to welcome Joseph’s Amazing Camels to the Countryside Ring!

Don’t miss this spectacular caravan of magnificent camels. With more than 35 years’ experience training and working with animals, Joseph Fossett is one of the country’s leading camel experts. Throughout the day, he’ll be sharing fascinating insights into these remarkable creatures, showcasing their intelligence, gentle nature and unique personalities.

If you’d like to meet the camels up close, learn more about them, or capture a memorable photograph, be sure to visit Joseph and his team at their stand in the Living Working Countryside. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get closer to these incredible animals and enjoy an experience you’ll be talking about long after the Fair is over.

Ferretworld Roadshow

The Ferretworld Roadshow will give you a feast of ferrets! Involving children taking part in the action in the Countryside Ring, you won’t be disappointed by this display. They also have a stand in the Living Working Countryside so make a point of visiting them to see the ferrets up close.

Berkeley Hunt Pony Club Fancy Dress

The Berkeley Hunt Pony Club members will be parading in fabulous Fancy Dress in the Countryside Ring. This is their third appearance and we hope to see them for many years to come. The Club teaches their young members everything they need to know about riding and equine management.

Falconry flying displays, with a lively and informative commentary and audience participation. You will also find Ben Long with his birds in the Living Working Countryside area during the day.

Harness Goats

The Harness Goat Society seeks to promote the usefulness, gentleness and intelligence of modern goat. Formed in 1986, the aims of the society are to maintain and improve the care and wellbeing of the harness goat, and to act as a source of advice on all matters pertaining to the health and training of the Harness Goat.

Strigidae Gundogs (Sam Thatcher)

We are very excited to welcome award winning top female gundog trainer of the year 2024 Sam Thatcher to our Countryside Ring where she will be demonstrating her experience with handling and training gundogs.

Sam is also demonstrating her Wildfowling Display by the lake at 10.30 am and 3.15 pm

Wye Valley Axemen

A firm favourite at Frampton Country Fair since 2007, the Wye Valley Axemen return with another thrilling display of strength, skill and precision, led by the ever-entertaining Eirwyn.

Watch as the team demonstrate traditional timber sports, combining power, speed and remarkable accuracy with razor-sharp axes. Listen for the unmistakable whistle of steel through the air as logs are expertly split in a spectacular display of craftsmanship and athleticism. It’s an action-packed demonstration that’s guaranteed to keep the whole family entertained.

Pass It On Young Sports inspires the next generation to discover the countryside through hands-on experiences, field sports and conservation. Their aim is to educate, encourage and share a lifelong appreciation of the rural way of life.
